Louisville 48 Hour Film Project 2015
The Louisville 48 Hour Film Project 2015 was so much fun and a tremendous learning experience. Last year I had the amazing opportunity to team up with my friends over at Renegade Art Productions to compete in the Louisville 48 Hour Film Project 2015.
If you are unaware of what the Louisville 48 Hour Film Project 2015 is, here is a brief overview straight from the Louisville 48 Hour Film Project’s Facebook Page:
“In a wild, sleepless weekend, you and a team will make a movie–write, shoot, edit and score it. From scratch. In 48 Hours. Then see it on the big screen!”
You read that right! Each team had just 48 hours to complete their movie. It all started on a Friday night. Each team sent a couple representatives to the Highland’s Molly Malone’s located at 933 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204. The representatives then selected a genre out of a hat. Our team selected Superhero.
There were also a couple of other stipulations. Each team had to use the same prop, line, and character names in their movie. For this Louisville 48 Hour FilmProject 2015 the following items were required:
Line: “I’ve got three words for you.”
Character Names: Trish and Trey Boulderson
With genre selected, our team immediately went to work on script ideas. Once a solid idea was pinned down, then the scriptwriters (Kelli Coleman and Jason Hoefflin) went to work to create the script. With script in hand, Producer/Director Herschel Zahnd assembled the team at a parking lot in downtown Louisville, KY early Saturday morning to begin shooting.
All projects for the Louisville 48 Hour Film Project 2015 were required to be turned in by 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. We successfully made it in on time.
This is the trailer for our entry, The Path to Rage:
There were a couple of screening days at Village 8 Theatres. The public along with cast & crew were able to cast their votes on the top 3 films shown during each screening. Then the votes were tallied and Best Of awards were given out.
Our film, titled The Path to Rage, took home two awards. We won Best Special Effects for our phenomenal After Effects as well as Best Choreography for our epic fight scenes! You can view our entry into the Louisville 48 Hour Film Project 2015 below:
