NAHA – North American Hairstyling Awards 2016
CONGRATULATIONS MATTHEW TYLDESLEY!!!
When I was approached about doing photography for the North American Hairstyling Awards 2016, I was not really sure exactly what NAHA was. However, it was a chance to work with Redken Ambassador & Master Stylist Matthew Tyldesley again.
This was by far the first time I had the chance to team up with one of the most talented hair stylists in the city of Louisville. We had first met while working on the much anticipated film, Loss Prevention from Thoughtfly Studios. And later went on to work on the Primitive series as seen in The PopUlar Magazine. And most recently, we teamed up again to work on the International Princess World show making its debut in China at the end of this month which is a touring International show featuring augmented reality. So I was well aware of the caliber of talent that Matthew puts into his work.
NAHA was something different. I knew this was something much more special for Matthew as this was his area of expertise and I was truly honored to be asked to shoot his texture entry. For those who are not familiar with what NAHA is, here is a brief history from their website:
“Since its humble beginnings in 1989, NAHA finalists and industry elite have brought this iconic photographic beauty competition to new heights year after year. NAHA continues to recognize the beauty industry’s most talented artists and advance the careers of stylists around the world.”
Today I found out the news that Matthew’s entry into the texture category for NAHA was selected as one of the 5 finalists in the Texture category!! This is exactly the kind of good news that every photographer loves to hear and I would like to thank the entire team for coming together on yet another successful project! WE ARE GOING TO VEGAS BABY!!!!
